LJYO has received Ontario Trillium Grant Funding
LJYO is please to announce that we have received our Ontario Trillium Grant,
to purchase four new timpani and carts for handling chairs and stands, to hire a consultant to assist with
board planning, and to provide wellness training to enhance music offerings for youth in Northumberland. The
LJYO Board of Directors is thrilled that the members of the orchestra will benefit from this funding.
LJYO held a Musician’s Wellness Clinic on Saturday December 12th, with Barbara
Paull, Physiotherapist, and Christine Harrison, Violinist. This clinic, funded in part by our Ontario Trillium
Grant, was well received by everyone in attendance. Participants had an opportunity to show Barbara and
Christine their playing positions for direct comment on possible improvements to playing posture.
LJYO has recently received carts for handling chairs and stands. Not only will
these carts help with our weekly set-up and take-down of LJYO equipment, they will make transportation of
equipment to Port Hope United Church an easier undertaking. Soon LJYO will receive four brand new timpani
as part of our Ontario Trillium Grant. A consultant has been hired to work on membership recruitment and
fundraising strategies for the orchestra.
